Call or contact your local charities and civic organizations. Here’s a few United way, Salvation army, Lions Club ,Kiwanis club , American Legion. what ever you got ,wherever you are. A few other places to try are City Social Services, Human Services programs, Community Action Network/ agency's, Community Centers/ Neighborhood Centers. Look in the phone book for churches, anything with the word Ministry in it is a good bet. Look for churches in wealthier Neighborhoods. Contact the local F.O.P. and the P.T.A.of your children's school. Try your local Police Dept ( yeah, I no, try anyway) and the Fire dept to. Look for local toy drives , contact the coordinator explain your situation ask if their is extra stuff, can your family have it. What ever you do be honest, sincere and extra polite. Some other sites to check out. follow the links. www.lovetoknow.com www.whereschristmas.worldpress.com www.secretsanta.org Last year I needed a bed for my grandson , he was sleeping on the floor and is a bad asthmatic, we had no money for a bed and could find no agency to help us . I got this idea ( not sure from where ) to write a note explaining who I was and what I needed and tape it to the front door of the church down the street from me. You guessed it, we got the bed. You never know until you try!. If you have come across any places that are helping please let us know. Did I fail to mention that I to am in the same boat as everyone else. I have a good feeling that we will all be just fine. Keep the Faith.
